Bronny James is expected to make his debut for Southern California on Sunday when the Trojans play Long Beach State, coach Andy Enfield said Thursday.
James would come off the bench and play with a minutes restriction.
Enfield said James completed his first full-contact practice Thursday and will go through another on Friday before the program and the medical team finalizes any plans.
The oldest son of LeBron James suffered a cardiac arrest during a preseason practice July 24, sidelining him for the start of his college basketball career.
James was a McDonald's All-American and a four- or five-star prospect in the Class of 2023, depending on the outlet. The 247Sports composite ranked him No. 22 overall in his class and the No. 5 combo guard.
USC is 5-3 following an 89-76 loss to then-No. 11 Gonzaga last Saturday.
LeBron James has said he will attend Bronny's first USC game. His Los Angeles Lakers do not play Sunday.
