Big Ten tournament roundup: No. 20 Purdue edges USC

Trey Kaufman-Renn matched his career high of 30 points and sixth-seeded Purdue avoided the upset with a 76-71 victory over 14th-seeded Southern California on Thursday night in Big Ten tournament second-round play in Indianapolis.
Fletcher Loyer scored 14 points and Braden Smith added 12 points and nine assists for No. 20 Purdue (22-10), which scored the game's final five points.
The Boilermakers will face third-seeded Michigan in the quarterfinals on Friday.
Desmond Claude scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half for the Trojans (16-17). Wesley Yates III added 13 points, and Matt Knowling and Rashau Agee added 11 points apiece.
No. 18 Wisconsin 70, Northwestern 63
John Tonje scored 18 points, including 12 in the second half, as the fifth-seeded Badgers held off the 13th-seeded Wildcats to earn a Friday semifinal matchup against fourth-seeded UCLA.
Nolan Winter also had 18 points for Wisconsin (24-8), which forced 14 turnovers that led to 17 points.
Nick Martinelli led Northwestern (17-16) with 22 points, while KJ Windham finished with 14 points and five assists.
No. 23 Oregon 72, Indiana 59
Jackson Shelstad had 18 points to lead the eighth-seeded Ducks to a second-round win over the ninth-seeded Hoosiers.
TJ Bamba scored 17 points for Oregon (24-8). The Ducks held Indiana scoreless for more than four minutes late in the game, allowing the conference newcomer to turn a two-point lead into a 65-56 advantage. Next up for Oregon is top-seeded Michigan State.
Malik Reneau paced Indiana (19-13) with 19 points, while Trey Galloway added 15 points and nine assists.
No. 24 Illinois 106, Iowa 94
Kylan Boswell had 24, Tre White scored 22 and Will Riley added 21 as the seventh-seeded Fighting Illini picked up the win over the 15th-seeded Hawkeyes.
Tomislav Ivisic finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for Illinois (21-11), which became just the second team to score at least 100 points in a Big Ten tournament game. The Illini will face second-seeded Maryland on Friday.
Payton Sandfort matched his career high with 30 points for Iowa (17-16) and also hit eight 3-pointers to tie a Big Ten tourney record. Josh Dix scored 21 points for the Hawkeyes.
